STREETWALKER BLUES

World famous ‘Streetwalker Blues’ is one of Elliott's pioneering erotic icons created in the early Eighties which has gone on to be published allover the world, in at least 25 countries - including the UK, USA, France, Italy, Russia and Japan. To call these early works of erotica influential is an understatement - they literally launched a zillion imitators in popular culture. Elliott designed the skirt himself, as such things did not exist. The legendary attention to detail included aerospraying the brass handbag fiitings to red, building the wall and mixing the paint to the exact shade. Here Elliott makes astonishing use of colour psychology. Blue is known to recede and red advances so the viewer is forced to look at the girl’s handbag and panties giving a visual allusion to sex for money. The masterpiece has a great sense of dynamism.
